About Me
Every great story starts with a single thread or a first brushstroke. I’m dedicated to creating handcrafted harakeke blooms and nature-inspired art that stands the test of time. My business is built on quality, integrity, and a deep respect for the materials I use. I’m thrilled to have you along for the ride as this creative adventure continues to blossom.
Where Tradition Meets Canvas "Welcome! I’m Debbie, an artist based in beautiful Foxton Beach. My work is a celebration of the textures and colours of Aotearoa, expressed through two very different but connected mediums: the ancient art of Harakeke weaving and contemporary painting. This website has been a labour of love—a long-held dream to bring all my creations into one digital space. Whether you are looking for a forever-bouquet that never fades or a piece of art to brighten your home, I hope you find something here that brings a sense of joy and nature into your world.
Flowers
Working with harakeke is my way of staying grounded and connected to the land. Each bloom begins with Foxton Flax, hand-harvested with a deep respect for the plant's life cycle. By following tikanga practices, I ensure that every bouquet honours the traditions of those who wove before me, creating a bridge between heritage and modern artistry. When I’m not weaving, you’ll find me at my easel or teaching art.
Paintings
My paintings are an exploration of local landscapes and vibrant florals, captured through a lens of movement and light. Each canvas is a celebration of the wild beauty found in our own backyard—from sweeping coastal horizons to the energetic dance of a wildflower meadow. I invite you to wander through these scenes and find a piece of nature that speaks to you.
